Cape Cod

First weekend out East we headed over to Cape Cod. It was an interesting weekend. I expected it to be more to Hatteras Island, NC, but, it was nothing like that. Driving through Cape Cod you seldom see the ocean due to the location of the roads and all the buildings along the shore. The landscape of the Cape is hilly with lots of trees. We stayed in Eastham near the outer cape and the Cape Cod National Seashore. Another suprise at the Cape was that all the beaches you have to pay to park at...to the tune of $15+ a day. Although, if you go to the beach after 5pm its free--guess when we went :) Enough chit chat...here's some photos. I'll have more to post soon.

Bridge to the Cape:

Yep, had to stop by the potato chip factory. My family loves the sea salt & black pepper chips:

Great dinner at the Beachcomber. It sits right on the Atlantic Ocean. We sat outside so we could enjoy the view.

All kinds of "grammy traps" (as we call them) along the Cape--think this was Emma's favorite part of the trip.

A fish we seen on the beach :)

Nice winery
Beautiful sunset.....

Rhode Island

Emma & I left on Tuesday for a 3 week stay in Rhode Island. I'm out here to photograph the Star Talk language program at Bryant University. Emma is going to attend the program. We plan on traveling around and seeing as much of New England as we can while we are here.

Here's our ride from Flint to Detroit. 17 minutes in the air--my kind of flight. Picked up a different plane in Detroit for the ride into Boston--only 1 hr 22 min for that flight. Sure beats driving.

Driving down the road--so green and hilly and rocky walls along the roads

Here's a great little shop Emma and I found:

Hi Alan and Dylan....we miss you!

Congratulations Rachelle & Troy

My friends welcomed baby Greyson to the world on Saturday, May 31st. (see previous post below for maternity photos). He weighed 6 pounds 6 ounces and was 20 inches long. Momma and baby are doing well. I'm looking forward to meeting Greyson and creating some wonderful newborn images.

Saturday......

What a weekend....On Friday my daughter fell during gym and hurt her wrist. I thought it was just a sprain and took her home and had her put ice on it. It was still bothering her later in the day so her dad took her to the doctor. Come to find out she has a buckle fracture near the growth plate so it needs a cast. The cast can't be put on until Saturday. Saturday is her dance recital. So, we have her cast put on at 11:30 and take her directly to her dance recital. Luckily, she was still able to perform, just had to skip a very small part of the floor routine. Unfortunately, there was absolutely no photography during the performance, not even the no flash variety. I wasn't very happy about that. Anywho...here's some pics of our day. Enjoy. If you're interested. Here's the recipe for the outdoor photos: Canon 430ex flash on stand with softbox to camera left (flash is just outside the frame) set on manual mode full power, camera set to ISO 100, shutter speed 250, apeture 14. Lens canon 50mm. Photographer laying on ground shooting up to include as much sky as possible.
