Mamma Mia! & More

Well, here's a little secret that you may not know about me. I am a huge ABBA fan (I know, some things you should never admit to), but I can't help it. I absolutely adore the music and then Mamma Mia came out on stage and it was wonderful. Well, my sister Dee called me this a.m. from Rhode Island to give me a bit of good news. In July, Mamma Mia is coming to the big screen AND its starring my all time favorite actor Pierce Brosnan (can I just say "yummy!"). I can't hardly stand it, two of my favorite things together! Oh man...this is going to be great. Oh, just on a side note it is also starring Colin Firth and Meryl Streep. You just gotta see the movie trailer:

Two other movies are out that I have heard are really good. August Rush and Across the Universe. If you've seen either of them, let me know what you think.

Things have been pretty quite with the photography lately...its been cold and dreary in Northern Michigan so not a lot to photograph. However, I'll try to get some pics posted soon...I'll dig through the archives and see if I can find some spring/summer ones.

I was blog surfing the other day and came across a really cool site: www.theweddingtravelers.com. They are professional photographers that travel around the world photographing weddings. How lucky are they? There are some absolutely stunning images of India on the site right now. Grab a cup of coffee and go visit their site, its time well spent :)

Cadillac Rotary Film Festival

Looking for something fun to do next weekend (Sat, March 22, 2008). The Cadillac Rotary Club is hosting a film festival right here in Cadillac. The line up of movies looks great and it will be a wonderful opportunity to see some great flicks. You can check it all out at: www.cadillacrotaryclub.com/events.htm Leave a comment and let me know you'll be attending...I'd love to meet up for lunch or dinner with some friends :D

Here's a sneak peak at what's in the line up. I would love to see all four, but I don't have the tolerance for sitting that long :D I will definately plan on watching two of the four. Want to help me decide which ones to watch--leave a comment and let me know your recommendations.

Cole 600

My nephew's birthday party was last weekend. We made the drive down to Illinois to attend. It was his 6th birthday and it had a race car theme. It was a lot of fun!!! We don't get to see him nearly as much as we would like to.

Here's the birthday boy on the morning of his party. I think her recently just started playing video games and Lego Star Wars is his favorite.

My sister-in-law is very creative and comes up with all kinds of fun ideas to make the party complete. She made a concession sign so that guest knew what to order for lunch.

Right around the corner in the dining room she had this set up:
Here's the goody box that each guest got to take home.
The birthday boy after racing his car in the Cole 600 (these next few pictures were taken by my son)

Here's the start of a race:
In addition to racing cars that they made and decorated they had to complete the pit stop challenge:
Wow....ya wanna be out of the way when the pinata breaks:

Pet Pics

I was playing with a new lens that I rented and thought I would share some pics of our pets. Couldn't resist posting the two of our dog---she is crazy and these pics prove it.

Here's our cat doing what he always does:

Snowshoeing

The other weekend we went snowshoeing with our friends. It was clear blue skies and a balmy 25 degrees outside (lol). I was able to snap a couple of pictures...here's two that I really liked. Thats Phil on the left and Alan on the right. I meant to get a picture of Marijane and I, but I completely forgot. The scenery was great that day.
